PONIC, George Jr. 47 years, suddenly on April 2, 2000. Beloved husband and best friend of Lucille (nee Beaudrie). Loving and devoted father of Chip Ponic III and Gen Bellemare, Jeff Ponic, and Matt Ponic. Dear son of George Sr. and the late Dorothy Ponic. Dear brother of James Ponic and wife Annette, Margaret Parker, Janice and husband Serge Lapointe, and Laurie and husband Robert Lacoursiere. George was an employee of Ford Motor Company for over 23 years. He was a coach for several years with Belle River Minor Baseball, and a Cub Scout leader for many years. Visitation will be Tuesday 12-4 p.m and 5-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 5, 2000, from Melady Funeral Home, 572 Notre Dame, Belle River, to St. William Church, Emeryville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at (time incomplete). Cremation to follow. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. A tree will be planted in memory of George Ponic Jr. in the Janisse, Marcotte, Melady Memorial Forest. A dedication service will be held October 1, 2000.(The Windsor Star)
