ADAMS, Gordon. Gordon Robert Adams of Assiniboia and formerly of Ottawa, Ontario passed away April 12, 2000 at the age of sixty-six years. Gordon was born May 10, 1933 in Montreal, Quebec and grew up in Montreal. Predeceased by his parents Job and Violet Adams in 1977 and 1998 respectively and also a cousin Joy Judson, Gordon is survived by his loving wife Shirley Adams (nee Griffin), his children: Shannon (Maurice) of Ottawa, Tami Hayes and grandchildren Kenneth and Erin of Belleville, Ont., Kelly Mitton of Ottawa, Darcy (Ron) Webb of Petawawa and grandchildren Elliott and Samantha, his sister Margaret Ann Adams of Ste. Adele, Quebec. Gordon is also survived by his mother-in-law Edna Pituley of Assiniboia, Sask.; sister-in-law Sharon (Murray) Hunter and family of Coquitlam, B.C.; brothers-in-law Gordon (Gayle) Griffin and family of Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., and James Griffin and family of Maple Ridge, B.C.; good friend Richard Griffin of Assiniboia as well as his loving aunts and uncles, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins of Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta. Gordon graduated from McGill University with his BSc in geology. His career took him to Northern Quebec, the United States and Africa. He retired from Canadian International Paper in Gatineau in 1987. Gordon and Shirley moved to Assiniboia in 1999. A Service of Remembrance was held at Ross Funeral Chapel, Assiniboia, Sask. on Monday, April 17, 2000. Friends may pay respects at a Service in Memory of Mr. Adams Saturday, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Road, Ottawa, Ontario (East of Bank).
