MacDONALD, Adelaide R. (Ad). (nee Wilson). On April 13, 2000, after a brief illness at the age of ninety-two. Mrs. MacDonald was a former resident of Toronto (1908-1949), Ottawa (1949-1965), Kelowna (1965-1980) and Vancouver. Predeceased by her husband of forty-one years, Donald C. (Shorty) in 1975, and brother H.H. (Harry) Wilson (Connie) of Toronto. Remembering her with love are children, Sally Thompson (Gordon), Tibby McKercher (John) and Tom MacDonald (Jennifer), eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ad cherished her family and enjoyed the Anglican Church, singing a hymn or a song, a party, playing bridge, golf, skiing, curling, sewing and gardening. She had a wonderful sense of humour. Walking amongst the flowers, birds and her favourite, the trees, was a passion. The family celebrated her life at a memorial service officiated by The Rev. Dr. Harry Robinson of St. John's Anglican Church, a man whom Ad greatly respected and admired. Flowers gratefully declined in favour of memorial contributions to Youville Residence, 4950 Heather St., Vancouver BC V6Z 3L9, where she was lovingly cared for since 1997.
