TOBIAS, Rytsa Helen. At the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal on Friday, April 14, in her eightieth year. Beloved daughter of the late Claire Ripstein Tobias, the late Norman Cecil Tobias. Dearest sister of David of Montreal, Theodore of Toronto and Patricia Garber of Toronto, dearly loved aunt, great aunt and sister-in-law and teacher. A private family interment to take place at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery in Winnipeg at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18. Friends and family welcome. Donations in Rytsa's memory to the Royal Victoria Hospital Foundation or Concordia University (SGW campus/Department of English). Her life was a classic example of lifelong learning and teaching. Chief among her varied interests were a great loyalty to Sir George William University in Montreal, of which she was a graduate (1951 B.A. and winner of the Birks Medal for the highest ranking graduate student in arts and Lieutenant Governor's Silver Medal for History) and long-standing Dean and Professor of English Literature.
