William John GILLIES

GILLIES, William John (Jack) 85 years, on April 25, 2000 at Metropolitan Hospital. Late of Lakeshore. Beloved husband of the late Catharine (nee Tierney) (1985). Loving father of Drew Gillies and wife Jo Ann, of Vancouver, B.C.; Mary Olive and Walter Gazo of Lakeshore. Dear grandpa of John and Stacy Gazo. Dear brother of James Gillies and wife Lorna, of Woodstock and the late William McDonald Gillies, Elizabeth Cleeton, Jean Hobbs, Robert Gillies and Andrew Gillies. Dear brother-in-law of Doris Gillies of Windsor and will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Jack retired in 1971 after 35 years with the Ford Motor Company, was a former member of the U.A.W. Local 200, a former St. Clair Beach Councillor and for many years had wintered in Naples, Florida. Visiting Thursday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 28 at 11 a.m. at the Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Rd., Tecumseh 735-2830. Rev. Paul Almond officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. As your expression of sympathy, a donations to the Diabetes Wellness Center of Windsor Essex County would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Jack Gillies in the Janisse, Marcotte, Melady Memorial Forest. A dedication service will be held October 1, 2000.(The Windsor Star)
