John POIRIER

POIRIER, John Passed away peacefully and suddenly on May 9, 2000 in his 73rd year, with his loving family at his side, after a brief illness. Late of Windsor, formerly of Sudbury. Beloved husband of 46 years to Rose (nee Pitura). Loving father of Loretta King and husband Jonathon, Frank and wife Marggie, John Jr. and wife Karen, Dan and wife Marie, and Kelly Power and husband Ray. Dearest papa of 13 grandchildren. Will be sadly missed by four sisters and two brothers. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8919 (Forest Glade) and past Governor of the Moose Lodge #230. Special thanks to Windsor Regional Hospital Met. Campus, Emergency & I.C.U. Sincere gratitude to Rev. Paul Almond, Dr. Licskai and Dad's "special nurse" Rose. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Visiting on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 9:30 a.m. from Marcotte Funeral Home and Chapel, 12105 Tecumseh Rd., Tecumseh (735-2830) to Parish of the Atonement for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Cremation to take place with the interment of cremated remains to be held in Sudbury, Ont. at a later date. K of C prayers Thursday 7:30 p.m., parish prayers Friday 8 p.m. A tree will be planted in memory of John Poirier, in the Janisse, Marcotte, Melady Memorial Forest.
