BLIMKIE, George M. Peacefully at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke, Ontario on Saturday evening May 13, 2000 in his 89th year. George Blimkie, formerly of R.R.#5, Pembroke, beloved husband of the late Rosella Blimkie and the late Belle Blimkie (nee Lamarche). Dear father of Beverly Sloan (Brian) of Pembroke. Loving grandfather of Paula, Michael, Deborah Cross (Dan), David (Judy), Donna and Glen. Great-grandfather of Christopher, Jason, Victoria and Jeffrey. Brother of Arthur (Essie) and Harvey (Jean) of Pembroke, Dorothy Flowers of Kingston, Anne Corrigan of Pembroke and Margaret Harris of Belleville. Son of the late Martin and Bertha (nee Linde) Blimkie. Predeceased by brother Clarence and sisters Lucy Miller and Isabel Wagner. He is survived by his sister-in-law Irene. George will be sadly missed by Mary Turcotte (Dwayne) and by all his nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends will be received at THE MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning May 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, Pembroke. Interment St. Columba's Cemetery. In memory of George, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
