BOISSONEAU, Ronald Edward (June 16, 1935 - May 13, 2000). What the heart gives away is never gone.. it is kept in the hearts of others. After a lengthy illness, Ron way called to meet the Big Guy on Saturday, May 13, 2000 at his home in Garden River in his 65th year surrounded by his loving family. Loving husband and friend of Gloria, cherished father of Shawn, Ken and Jackie (David). Papa to Andy, Ronnie, Barry, Kyle, and Kristopher. Survived by his brothers Joe (Audrey), Tom (late Annie), brother-in-law of Harold (Doreen), Rose (Garn), and the late Dorothy (Eli). Predeceased by his parents Stephen and Charlotte Boissoneau; late brothers and sisters Theodore, John, Adelaide, Anna, and Rose. Best friend and uncle to Darrell Boissoneau (Martina) and Karen Cada (Rick). Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, great nephews, nieces and cousins. Ron was a former chief, councilor and political advocate for the people of Garden River and all Indian people across Canada. Ron retired from the Cold Mill at Algoma Steel after 35 years of service. Friends may call at the Garden River Community Centre on Monday, May 15, 2000 from 8:30 p.m. until Wednesday, May 17, 2000, where services will take place at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Interment Garden River Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank Sault Area Ambulance Service, St. Marys Nursing Services, doctors and nurses at the General Hospital who made a valianteffort to make his last days comfortable.(The Sault Star)
