BURKE, Elaine (nee Pitman). Passed away peacefully on May 19, 2000 at the age of forty-four after her courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Alex and Anne Pitman. She is survived by her loving husband Robert Burke, her son Matthew and step-son David. Dear sister to Jo-Anne (Benoit) and Frank (Jeannette). Loving aunt to Robbie, Dominique and Kimberly. She leaves behind many loving relatives and devoted friends. Special thanks to the staff of the Montreal General Hospital's Palliative Care Unit for providing Elaine with excellent medical and emotional care. The family will receive relatives and friends at Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex, 625 Principale, Ste-Dorothee, Laval. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 27, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Notre-Dame-de-l'Esperance Church, 895 Chemin de la Fourche, Ile Bigras, Laval. Visiting hours Tuesday, May 23, 2000 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.
