BALKWILL, Lena May (Rogers) Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 21st at the Sunparlor Home for Senior Citizens, Lena May Balkwill (Rogers). Formerly of Southgate residence Kingsville, Essex and Gosfield South in 93rd years. Beloved wife of 73 years of Philip Balkwill. Loving mother of Bertha and her husband Harold Sweetman of Windsor, Paul and his wife Shirley of Ridgetown, and the late Hugh Balkwill (1999). Loved mother-in-law of Ruth Balkwill. Dearest Grandma of 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Cherished sister of Hugh and Helen Rogers, Ora and Garnet Stevenson, Margaret and Jack Lewis, Norma and Murray Ferguson and Evelyn Rogers. She was predeceased by one brother Glen and five sisters, Pearl, Mina, Jean, Erma and Verna. Loved sister-in-law of Mary and Cameron Scott, Urcyle and Elma Balkwill, Clayton and Jean Balkwill. She was predeceased by one brother-in-law Garnet and two sisters-in-law Jean and Annie. She will sadly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Resting at the C. Stuart Sykes Funeral Home , 91 Division St. S., Kingsville on Wednesday May 24, 2000 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the auditorium of the Sunparlour Home for Senior Citizens on Thursday, May 25th at 11:00 am with Rev. Linda Blair officiating. Interment in Greenhill Cemetery, Kingsville. If desired, donations to the Memorial Fund of the Trinity United Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.(The Windsor Star)
