WAANAN SALO Sylvia (Nee Salo) August 7th, 1919 - May 31st, 2000 The family announces with sorrow her unexpected passing on the 31st of May, 2000, at the Timmins & District Hospital, aged 80 yrs. of Porcupine. Beloved wife of the Late Armas Waanan (*1985). Dear mother of Linda (Mrs. Frank Dalton) of Timmins. Sadly missed by her granddaughter Melissa. She was predeceased by her 3 sisters and one brother, Helmi Plaunt, Elli Tuominen, Esther Philbert and Lauri Salo, her parents Hilma & Herman Salo. She will be greatly missed by numerous nephews & nieces, and great-nephews & nieces. Mrs. Waanan was a lifetime resident of the Porcupine Camp and an active volunteer and participant of many organizations in the Porcupine Camp. As an expression of sympathy, remembrance donations in her honour will be accepted through the funeral home to the Spruce Hill Lodge or a charitable Organization of your choice. A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Whitney Cemetery. Pastor Kari Springfelt officiating.
