MEAGHER, Robert Wayland. M.A., M.Ed., Ph.D., S.J., CCT. August 31, 1924 - June 1, 2000. Retired Judge of the Court of Canadian Citizenship, educator, teacher, scholar, musician, author, mentor, motivator, theologian and friend. Recipient of the Canada 125, Paul Harris, Order of Collingwood. Best friend and husband of Sandra Carol Kern (Cruicshank), eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Meagher of Montreal, brother of Dr. John (Kathleen) and the late Edmund (Margaret) and the late Frederick. Uncle of Michael, David, Kathryn, Kevin, Brian, Gary, Richard and Catherine, their spouses and children. Stepfather to Heather and Andrew and their children. Fondly remembered by generations of students at St. Pauls in Winnipeg, Regiopolis in Kingston, Breubeuf in Toronto, St. Andrews in Aurora, Byng School in Stayner and Nottawa Central, Lifelong Learning and Elderhostel as well as Canadians across the country. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 25, 2000, at All Saints' Anglican Church in Collingwood to celebrate the life of this unique man. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital Foundation, the Robert Meagher Memorial Fund at St. Andrews College or the All Saints' Restoration Fund, would be appreciated. He touched us with his caring and we are all the better for his having been with us. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fawcett Funeral Home, 82 Pine Street, Collingwood, ON.
