PRIEUR, Virginia M. Passed away peacefully June 3, 2000 at the age of 69 at her residence. She lived her life so we could see Don't be afraid...what will be, will be. With each bridge to cross or hill to climb She reached her goals one day at a time. Her angels were always very close by And now she is our angel from on high. With her family all around her, she said her rosary one last time before God reached down and chose her for His garden. Left to celebrate her life, are her loving and devoted husband, Louis J., her proud and loving children Renee MacKenzie (Allan), Kathi Maitre (Mike) of Alberta, Arlene O'Donnell (Tom) of Sarnia, Luann Kapasi (Mike), Sherri Welsh (Ross), Gini Kryway (Keith), Jay Prier (Andrea), and Laurie Laliberty (Paul) all of Windsor; grandchildren Mark (Sharmi), Chris (Krystal), Shawn, Dani, Kristin, Jon, Kerri, Dale, Jeff, Andrew, Shawn, Paul, Ryan, Kyle, Krystal, Kory, Kale and Kelsey and great grandchildren Stellen, Lacey and Brooke-Lynn, sister Sharon Sobolewski (Cass), brother Lane McLean (Geri), Aunt Violet Cassidy, Aunt Bernie Lozon and Uncle Amos McLean. She also had many treasured friends. Virginia also cared very deeply for her extended family. She was the loving sister-in-law of Nellie Desmarais, Lillian Coyle, John and Dorothy Prieur, Joe and Lee Prieur, Bob and Betty Prieur, Marg and Joe Marrin, Tom and Rita Prieur, Dick and Pat Prieur and Shirley and Joe Steiner. A caring aunt to many nieces and nephews; she enjoyed a special bond with Nancy and Terry St. Louis, Sue Caza and Jeremy Desmarais. Friends will be received at The Chapel of Angels Funeral Home, 866 Tecumseh Rd. East (at Parent Ave.) on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Alhambra prayers will be held on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. followed by Parish prayers at 8:15 p.m. Family and friends are requested to gather at St. Rose de Lima Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 7, 2000 for a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Father Mike Prieur officiating. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Virginia was a member of the Sultanas of the Order of the Alhambra for 34 years. As your expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Order of Alhambra, Harmony in Action, Windsor Regional Cancer Clinic, or Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital.(The Windsor Star)
