ROLFE Peacefully at Thamesview Lodge, Chatham, on June 11, 2000, Newman Joseph Rolfe, age 84 of Chatham, loving husband of Rita (Perry) Rolfe. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, son of the late Ellen Cecilia (Boutlier) and Newman Leo Rolfe. Newman was an Electrician all of his life where he worked all over the United States and Canada. He was in the 1st Contingent of the Royal Canadian Engineers to land in England and also served in the Italian Theater during W.W. II and was a member of Branch #28 Legion. Dearest father of Nancy Rolfe, Louise Cruz and her husband James, Linda Ross and her husband Jimmy all of Ohio, Joe Rolfe of Windsor, Barbara Taylor and her husband Bill of Florida, Ellen Begin of Windsor, Jimmy Rolfe and his wife Mary of Calgary and Richard Rolfe of Vancouver. Also sadly missed by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother of Helen Wilson and her husband James of Toronto, Gerald Rolfe of Liverpool, Nova Scotia and Jackie Rolfe and his wife Marguerite of Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is predeceased by a sister Agnes Burke and a brother Ernie Rolfe. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home, 156 William St. S., Chatham from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2000. Chapel Service will be conducted in the Hinnegan-Peseski Funeral Home, on Wednesday June 14, 2000 at 11:00 am with Fr. Andrew Kowalczyk C.S.M.A. of St. Agnes' Church officiating. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are asked to gather at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:00 pm for their Service of Remembrance. Cremation will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sarnia. Donations to Thamesview Lodge would be appreciated by the family.(The Windsor Star)
