GREEN, George Michael In loving memory of George Michael Green, 80 years, Wednesday morning, June 14th, 2000 at the North Bay General Hospital-Scollard Site. George was born in Eganville and married Beatrice ( Desjardins) in North Bay in 1945. George came to Sudbury in 1942 from Eganville. He was a crane operator at the Copper Cliff smelter having 42 years service at INCO retiring 1982. A devout Roman Catholic he belonged to Christ the King Church where he helped in the liturgy and parish ministries, and he was a former member of the Men's Club. George was always quick to help others, reflected in his faithful committment of volunteering at the Cancer Centre, and his leadership as president of the Social Club at Christ the King Centre. An avid gardener, George will be remembered as an accomplished Mr. Fix-it, a gifted woodworker and a proud car buff. He was devoted to his family to whom he leaves a rich legacy of love, faith and goodness. Beloved husband of Beatrice ( Desjardins ) Green of Sudbury. Loving father of Carol ( husband Gil Bertrand ) of Princeton B.C., Gail ( husband Douglas Los ) of Sudbury, Kathy ( husband John Schneider ) of Princeton B.C., Stephen ( wife Elizabeth ) of Port Carling, and MIchael ( wife Michaela ) of Kanata. Cherished grandfather of Laura ( husband Andrew Yee ), Amy, Matthew, Paul, Ted, Kellie, Andrew, Rebecca, Benjamin, Miranda; great-grandchildren Christopher and Brandon. Dear son of Stephen and Anna Green predeceased. Dear brother of Frances Burns ( husband Bill ) of Ironbridge, Philip Greene ( wife Lucie ) of Sudbury and Mervil Green ( wife Edna ) of Whitney and the late Anslem Lessard, Jim and Desmond Green all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. Sudbury. Funeral mass in Christ the King Church, Beech St. Sudbury, Saturday, June 17th, 2000 at 10 am. Interment in the Civic Cemetery, Sudbury.
