ABNEY, Harold C. On June 17, 2000 at the Blake Medical Center at the age of seventy-eight years in Bradenton, Florida. He was born in Madison County, Kentucky, lived in Ontario, Canada; winters in Manatee County since 1977, permanent since 1988. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, in World War II. He was a member of El Conquistador Country Club and the American Legion Kirby Stewart Post #24. He leaves to mourn his beloved companion, Mary Ann, three daughters, Margo Ratsep of Scarborough, Ont., Marsha Speevak of Mississauga, Ont. and Marlene Young of B.C.; his two sons, Allen and Gerry, both of B.C.; his brother Benny Abney of Richmond, Kentucky; his fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Resting at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes, 26th St. Chapel, Bradenton. Visitation Thursday, June 22, from 4 to 6 p.m., 5624 26th St. W. Bradenton. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 23, at 10 a.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, 5512, 26th St. W. Bradenton, Rev. John R. Brabham officiating. Burial in Bradenton, Fl.
