BEARD John 1936-2000 The family announces with sorrow his passing on June 20, 2000 at the Timmins & District Hospital in his 64th year, a resident of Timmins. Beloved husband of Joan Dompierre at home. Dear Stepfather to Debbie (John) McCrae of Timmins, Jimmy Dompierre (Chie) of Toronto, Shari Ronholm of Toronto and Shelley, Lenny and Joey Mokos and their children from his previous marriage. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Shalon & John Jr. Bell, Maria Dompierre and Andrew, Gavyn and James Ronholm. He is survived by one brother, William (Dorothy) Beard of Kirkland Lake. Mr. Beard is predeceased by his first wife Catherine, his brother Harold and his sister Lyn McGinn. John was born in South Porcupine and had been a lifelong resident until moving to Timmins five years ago. He was employed by Dome Mines for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the South Porcupine United Church Choir, a dart player for the Legion (Branch 287) and also a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. Remembrance donation will be received through the funeral home. (Please make cheques payable to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation). A Funeral Service celebrating his life will be held at South Porcupine United Church on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Doreen Sproule officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 2 PM to 4 PM and from 7 PM to 9 PM on Wednesday at the Stinson Funeral Home, 100 Bruce Ave., South Porcupine. (235-2900) (The Daily Press)
