BAILLIE Jon Larry, born February 15th, 1942, passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2000 with his family at his side at Royal Columbian Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Linda; children Michelle (Don), David (Rachel), Melanie (Robbie) and granddaughter Ashley, as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends. A special thank you to everyone for their endless support and prayers. Thank you also to all the nurses and doctors for their efforts, compassion, and kind words. Thank you to Dr. Crothers, you are a very special man. Jon touched so many people in all aspects of his life with tireless devotion to anything he put his mind to. In work and at play, Jon's positive attitude and friendly smile have given all who knew him the strength to find within themselves the power to achieve anything. The pride Jon took in caring for his family, his work, his volunteering and his community is a lesson in life that we shall all cherish forever. A public memorial service in celebration of Jon's life will be held on Saturday, July 8th, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the Port Coquitlam Recreation Complex. In lieu of flowers, donations towards the Jon Baillie Legacy Scholarship can be sent to The Justice Institute B.C. Foundation, 715 McBride Boulevard, New Westminster, B.C. V3L 5T4.(The Vancouver Sun)
