GOULET Maxime-Asgar (Max) Goulet of Calgary, passed away with his family at his side at the Agape Manor Hospice on July 2, 2000 at the age of 70 years. Max was born in Carmen, MB on August 24, 1929. After graduating from high school in Glenboro, MB, he joined the RCMP in 1948. In 1951 he joined the Military Police, serving in Korea and Japan. On his return, he served across Canada, Germany, and Cyprus. Upon retirement, he joined the Unemployment Insurance Commission as an investigator and served with the Militia until retirement as the District Chief Warrant Officer. Max served as the president of the RCMP Veterans Association, Grand Knight with Council 7871 Knights of Columbus and District Deputy. During the 1988 Winter Olympics Max served as the Security Chairman for the Ski Jumping Event. Max is survived by two sons, Guy and Everett, both of Calgary, two grandchildren, Justine and Jeanine, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Everett and Mavis Goulet of Minneapolis, MN, and Edward and Dorothy Goulet of Medicine Hat, AB, two sisters and a brother-in-law Oleen Goulet of Edmonton, and Elize and Muir Lyons of Kamloops, BC, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Max was predeceased by his loving wife Thelma on March 7, 1996. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (4th Street & Northmount Drive N.W.) on Friday, July 7, 2000 at 10 :00 A.M. with the Rev. Andrew Pyon celebrant.
