LEVERGE Joseph, Reverend, Oblate of Mary Immaculate, in his 76th year, died in Vancouver, B.C. on July 10, 2000. Born in Landivisiau, Brittany, France on August 6, 1924, son of the late Jean Le Verge and Anne Marie Riou. Survived by brothers Louis and Jean and sisters Marguerite and Anne Marie Le Verge, all living in France. Ordained in Pontmain, France on February 17, 1949, assigned to Repulse Bay, then Igloolik, Chesterfield Inlet, Pelly Bay, Spence Bay and Rankin Inlet. In 1977 came south to Calgary, then Burns Lake, Fort St. John, New Westminster, Cassiar, Hope and Vancouver. Retired in 1996 at Pandosy Place, he was greatly loved for his keen interest and service to St. Augustine's School and parish. Friends may call at St. Augustine's Church, 7th and Maple, for vigil service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13 where Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 14 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to Covenant House, 575 Drake St., Vancouver, V6B 4K8.
