TURCOTTE Raymond Leo, Thunder Bay, died on July 11, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 61 years old. Mr. Turcotte was born Nov. 26, 1938 in Kapuskasing and left Kap 32 years ago. He was a senior member of the executive and corporate division of the Investors Group. He was the first in Northern Ontario to receive the designation of chartered financial planner and was an active member in the Thunder Bay community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Kinsmen, past president of the Kiwanis and director of the Diabetes Association and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Turcotte was predeceased by infant sons Daniel and Shawn, parents Yvonne and Fernand, twin sisters Jeannine Desrosier and Jeanne Boon and father-in-law Alphonse Leclair. He is survived by wife Doris, daughter LynnAnne of Montreal, and siblings Jean-Paul (Paula) of Westchester, Ohio, Ronald (Helen) of Kapuskasing, Suzanne (Bill) Acorn of Ottawa and Denis (Alrae) of Tillsonburg. Also surviving are mother-in-law Yvette Leclair of Kap, sister-in-law Lise (Ron) Marchand of Kap and brother-in-law Palma Leclair of Tillsonburg. Rev. P. M. Stilla and R. A. Carey directed the funeral service at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church. Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral director was Everest of Thunder Bay. (Northern Times)
