PORTELANCE, Marguerite Irene (nee Campeau). Peacefully with her family present, Marguerite passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2000 in Toronto in her eighty-second year. Beloved wife of the late Rene Joseph Portelance. Loving mother of Mary (John de Wolf), John (Claire), Rita (Peter Duffy) and Helen (Lawrence Winslow). Dear grandmother of Philip and Susan Portelance. Sister of James Campeau of Britt and Audrey St. Amant of Sudbury, Ontario. Predeceased by her brothers Raymond, Arthur, Alfred, and Edward Campeau and sister Theresa Cutler. Marguerite was born in Byng Inlet, Parry Sound District on March 14, 1919. She married in 1941 and raised her family in Sherbrooke and Montreal, moving to Christie Gardens, Toronto, in 1985. Blessed with a great spirit and a positive attitude she will be sadly missed by her devoted relatives including many nieces, nephews and friends. On Marguerite's behalf, her family wishes to thank the Christie Gardens staff and most recently the residential care nursing team and the medical and nursing staff at Toronto Western Hospital (9A) and Sunnybrook Hospital (4C) for their efforts and kindness on her behalf.
