Jessie F. Huot (nee Misson) Memorial Service 1 :00 p.m. Friday, July 21st, 2000 Desjardins Funeral Chapel 357 Des Meurons Street On Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at St. Boniface Hospital, Jessie Florence Huot (nee Misson), aged 83 of Winnipeg. The beloved wife of Paul E. Huot (deceased 1996), Jessie was born in London, England on April 9, 1917. She grew up in Southend-on-Sea, Essex and was working as a fire warden for the British Telephone Company when she met and married Paul, a sargeant in the Canadian Armed Forces. She was one of the first group of British War Brides who came to Canada on the Aquitainia in 1946. Jessie devoted her early years in Winnipeg to raising her two children Carol and Clifford. After a time, the world of work beckoned and she had a successful career as a book keeper, first with Genser's Furniture Company and later with Motor Coach Industries. Jessie is loved and will be remembered for her fighting spirit by Clifford (Winnipeg), Carol and Peter (Raleigh, NC), Matthew and Judi (Chicago); Adam, Lucy and Madeleine (also of Raleigh), and many friends. A Memorial Service will take place at 1 :00 p.m. on Friday, July 21st, at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Jessie's memory, to a charity of one's choice. "Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
