McNAMEE, Claire (nee Smith). Peacefully and surrounded by loved ones. Beloved mother of Tommy (Shirley), Gale (Robert), Joy (Ron), Dana (Silvio) and the late Jill and Dawn passed away on July 19, 2000. Devoted and adored wife of the late Thomas McNamee. Loving grandmother of Warren, Lisa, Steven, Christopher, Lauren, Richard and Katelin. Dear great-grandmother of Ashley and Kaylie. Dear sister of Bob (Janet), George (the late Bessie) and the late Vincent (Lois). Loving sister-in-law of Ann (the late Willard), the late George (Kay), and Gladys (the late Bill). Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her deep faith, strength of character, kindness, generosity, compassion and love of family and friends will be her enduring legacy. She will live forever in our hearts. We are comforted in knowing that our mother is at peace and has joined our beloved father and sisters. Jesus said I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live and; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. A special thank you to Doctor Thirwell who helped our mother in her quest for life and Doctor Schreier and the Palliative Care Day Hospital and nursing staff of the Montreal General Hospital for their care and compassion. Visitation will be at the Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd. (corner Isabella), on Saturday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service from the Chapel on Sunday, July 23 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Research Fund would be appreciated.
