PRATT, Elizabeth (nee McDougall). Peacefully following a brief illness on Saturday, July 22, 2000 at the Ottawa General Hospital. Born September 21, 1920 in Trois Rivieres, Quebec. Beloved wife of the late Arthur James. Mother of Arthur William (Leslie), Vancouver and John James (Mary), Auburn, Alabama. Grandmother of David Benjamin. Survived by sisters Dorothy and Mary (Bill Ritchie); brothers Arthur (Grace) and Jack (Doris); sisters-in-law Joan Page and Judy McDougall; as well as many nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Annie and William Robert. Predeceased by brothers William, Gordon and Thomas; sister Nancy (Trevor Stevens). Elizabeth was a graduate of Bishop's and Wayne State Universities. She taught in Tecumseh, Ontario and was a librarian with the Windsor Public Libraries for many years. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa, 613-233-1143 on Wednesday, July 26, from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Cremation. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
