JANSEN, Bernard P. (Ben). Peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday July 23, 2000 after a lengthy illness, at age seventy-one. Loving husband of Mart Jansen (nee Nieman) for forty-one years. Dear father of Lynn, Fred (Pascale Perron) and Thomas (Barrie Brennen). Proud grandfather of Anthony, Maika, Olivier and Saskia. Godfather to Annemieke Van t'Hek and Karen Van Leeuwenkamp. Fondly remembered for his many years of community service, his warm personality and later in life as the founder of Euro-Plus Cafe, of Pointe Claire. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and orderlies at the Lakeshore Hospital and the staff of the Lac St. Louis C.L.S.C. who showed Ben exceptional compassion and care, also being of great support to our family. Visitation at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2000 at Saint Edward the Confessor Mission (St. Johns United), 98 Aurora Ave., (corner Ambassador), Pointe Claire. Followed immediately by Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend without further invitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lakeshore Hospital Foundation and to the West Island Volunteers Bureau.
