PEARCE, Clayton Victor 85 years, on July 28, 2000, of Stoney Point, with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of 59 years to Milly Pearce (nee LaCharite). Loving father of Dare and Mary Anne Pearce, Randy and Brenda Pearce, Charlotte and Doug Waterman, Jennifer and Michael O'Farrell, Craig and Anna Pearce. Beloved grandfather of Brett, Rene, Mackenzie, Mckinley, Maureen, David, Sullivan, Bradley, Erin, Rachel, Brittany, Trevor and Ryann. Dear brother of Elsie and George Simpson, Gerald Pearce and Kathy, Jean and Garcie Kiser and Cliff and Vearlie Pearce. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Terry Martin Pearce and his grandchildren Darcie Elizabeth Pearce, Mary Margaret Waterman, Kristie Leigh Pearce, Emerson Luke Pearce and Kimberly Lynne Pearce, by siblings, Mary, Glenn and Everett. Clayt was a talented toolmaker and businessman who contributed to the success of many companies over the years including Progressive Industries of Southfield, X-Mation Tool of Novi and Clay Mill Technical Systems of Windsor. He grew with the tooling industry going from the horse and buggy era to robotics. As a result of his skills Clay Mill was awarded the gold medal for innovation by the Canada Awards for Business. In his younger years he was a ball player of note and played across the Province, once playing in an exhibition game against Babe Ruth and turning down an offer from the Cleveland Indian Association. He was a devoted family man and a member of the Masonic Lodge #47. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Visiting Sat. 7-9pm. and Sun. 2-5 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mon. July 31, 2000, 11:30am. at Janisse Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel 1139 Ouellette Ave., (253-5225) Rev. Don Hansford officiating. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Canadian Diabetic Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Fund would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Clayton Pearce in the Janisse, Marcotte, Melady Memorial Forest. A dedication service will be held October 1, 2000. (The Windsor Star)
