MACLEAN, Audrey Jean. March 11, 1926 to July 29, 2000. After a determined and courageous battle, Jean passed away on Saturday, July 29 at Belleville General Hospital with her family present. Daughter of the late Frederick and Audrey Roffey, she was predeceased by brothers John and Michael, and daughter Debra, all of Montreal. Beloved and devoted wife of Murray, Jean was a dedicated mother to her children, Bruce (Claudia) of Matthews, N.C., Craig (Georgia) of Belleville and Kim Hobbs (Barry) of Oakville, Ontario. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Murray and Alexandra of Belleville, and Myranda and Kyle Hobbs of Oakville, and her brother David and his wife Stephanie of Burlington, Ontario. Jean will be remembered for her positive, happy outlook on life and her kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity to others. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2000 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Burke Funeral Home (613-968-6968) 150 Church Street, Belleville, followed with a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. by Rev. Peter Joyce. Cremation and private family interment will follow at a later date. Friends are invited to a reception in the funeral home facilities after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation - Oncology Department of the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
