MUIR, Edythe Margaret (nee Hughes). Taken home to be "with Christ, which is far better", on Sunday, July 30, 2000 in her eighty-fourth year. Beloved wife of the late George Ernest Muir. Dearly loved mother of Robert George Muir and his wife Sigrid, and grandmother of Sarah and Martha Muir. Predeceased by her brother Douglas Hughes and his wife Hilda, and by her brother-in-law Greig Muir and his wife Mary. Edythe will be greatly missed by her four sisters and their husbands: Ethelwyne and John Arendt, Grace and William McCullough, Ruth and Edmund Beacham, and Naomi (wife of the late John) Brereton; also by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Marjorie Muir, Oliver and Dorothy Muir, Stanley and Enid Muir, Eric and Myrtle Rumsby; by her faithful friends and caregiver Dora Enden, and by many cousins and friends. "Aunt Edie" will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews spanning three generations. But we "sorrow not as others which have no hope" Our "hope is in the Lord" because we know that she, and we, have been "redeemed with the precious blood of Christ". "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday, August 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Boulevard des Sources, Dollard des Ormeaux, Qc.
