Kapuskasing resident Joanne Anita Dargus, 49, of 19 Brock Cres. died Nov. 5, 2001 at Sudbury General Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born May 12, 1952 in Hearst, she resided in Toronto for some 20 years before moving to Kapuskasing in October 2000. Described as quiet, happy and one who laughed and liked to joke, she enjoyed cooking and watching TV. She was a member of the Kapuskasing Independent Living Group. Predeceased by her mother Jeannine Dargus in 1975, she leaves her father Joseph Dargus of Kirkland Lake, and a son Terry (Maryse) Vachon of Cochrane. Also surviving are her sister Christine Chevalier of Kapuskasing, brothers Wayne (Valery) of Newmarket, David (Jannine) of Toronto and Richard Dargus of Timmins, and three-month-old granddaughter Camyrin of Cochrane. Rev. Rémi Lessard officiated the Nov. 9 service at Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral. Cremation was done at the Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson. Interment will be at Hearst's Monseigneur Grenier Cemetery.
