Olivier Lafrance Olivier Lafrance, 107 Kelly Road, Smooth Rock Falls, died at SRF Hospital on Aug. 28, 2001. He was 86 years old. Mr. Lafrance was born Feb. 26, 1915 in Montreal, Quebec and arrived in the area in 1924. He worked as a lab tester in the pulp and paper industry until retiring in 1980 from Tembec. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed skating, skiing and snow shoeing. Mr. Lafrance was predeceased by his son Pierre and brothers Wilfrid, Emery, Eugène and Albert. He is survived by sons Francois (Lucille) of Kitimat, Roger (Suzanne) of SRF, Paul of Toronto and Gaetan of Sudbury and daughters Francoise Lafrance (Vern Plum) of Port Alberni, Suzanne (Francois) Lambert and Huguette (Donald) Grenier, all of SRF, Marie-Anne (Patrick) Casey of Calgary and Juliette Henderson of North Bay. Mr. Lafrance had 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Rev. Jacques Fortin directed the funeral service at Ste Gertrude. Mr. Lafrance will be interred at the SRF cemetery.
