Margaret Ferris Funeral services for longtime Constance Lake resident Margaret Mary (nee Solomon) Ferris were held July 21, 2001, following her death, July 18, at the Hearst Foyer des Pionniers Nursing Home. Born Sept. 30, 1913 in Fort Albany, she came to Constance Lake around 1948 and had resided at the Foyer since June 1985. She enjoyed fixing moose hides, making quilts, beadwork and moccasins, blueberry picking, and picnickning. Her husband Joseph Ferris died in 1965, sons Billy in 1970 and Samson Ferris in 1995, daughters Hilda Ineese in 1998 and Pearl Sutherland in 1999, daughter-in-law Mary Ferris in December 2000, and a stepbrother George Ferris. She leaves daughters Mary (Alex) Solomon, Jane (Willie) Sutherland and Dorothy (Eddy) Achneepineskum, all of Constance Lake, and sons Harvey (Virginia), Rennison, Kent, James (Susan), Robert (Beatrice) and William, all of Constance Lake. Also surviving are 39 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Rev. Douglas Richardson officiated the service at St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Constance Lake. Interment followed at the Constance Lake burial ground.
