Ronaldo Joseph Fournier, of Hearst Death: September 16th, 2001 Ronaldo Fournier Funeral services for Hearst resident Ronaldo Joseph Fournier, 74, of 32 Sixth St. were held Sept. 20, 2001. He died Sept. 16 at Notre-Dame Hospital after falling ill while berry picking near Longlac. Born June 5, 1927 in Estcourt (now Pohénégamook), Temiscouata, Quebec, he came to the area in 1939. A equipment operator for 50 years with Malette (now Tembec Hearst) until 1992, he was a member of the Chevaliers de Colomb/Knights of Columbus and Club soleil des aîné-e-s seniors club. Described by family as active and full of life, he enjoyed carpet bowling, the outdoors, hunting, fishing and berry picking. Predeceased by his father Léo Fournier in 1971 and Diana in 1976, a brother Adrien in 1981 and sister Jeannine Dargus in 1975, he leaves his wife Réjeanne (née Lallier), a son Daniel (Sylvane Lacroix) Fournier of Ottawa, and a daughter Jovette (Brian) Gratton of Dowling. Also surviving are sisters Pierrette Henry of St. Thomas and Anita (John) Semon of Barrie, brothers Réal (Sandra) Fournier of Hearst and George Guy (Suzanne) of Larder Lake, and grandchildren Alexandre, Dominique and Amélie. Rev. Jean-Roch Pelletier officiated the service at the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral. Interment followed at the Monseigneur Pierre Grenier Cemetery. Funeral director was the Salon Lafrance Funeral Home. The family has requested that commemorative donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Published on September 16th, 2001
