STEEN, KENNETH D. - The passing of Kenneth D. Steen of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Friday, December 28th, 2001. Born January 10, 1930 in Rollingdam, NB, he grew up in Milltown, NB and attended the Milltown High School and also Teacher's College in Fredericton. He first taught school at Grand Manan. Ken was a well known shoe traveller. Starting with a national chain of shoe stores, he worked in all aspects of the industry, including store manager and independent sales representative. The last twenty years were happily spent working with Louis George at George E. George Ltd. He is survived by one daughter, Valerie Steen of Seattle, Washington, USA and one son Kurt in Newfoundland. Also survived by special friends Ila Reid, Winston Jones, Don Nelson, Andy Anderson and by his cousin Norma Mann. He will be missed by all who knew him. Although there will be no visitation, family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service to be held Sunday, January 6, 2002 at 2:30 PM at Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton. Canon Tom Smith will officiate. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to a charity of your choice.
