OBC, RCA, Sculptor 1927 - 2001 Jack Kenneth Harman, born July 31, 1927 in Vancouver BC, died January 3, 2001 at St. Paul's Hospital in his 73rd year. Loving husband of Elaine and father to his daughter Melinda (Keath) Konings, son Stephen (Jen) Harman, grandchildren Michael and Katrina Konings and Alison and Benjamin Harman. Predeceased by his daughter Karen in 1998 and his brother Bill in 1967. He will be lovingly remembered by his aunt, Alice Dawson, brother Jim Harman, sisters Joan (Bill) McMynn and Diana (Howard) Coulter, sister-in-law Betty (Ken) Pullar and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank the Doctors, nurses and volunteers on the palliative care ward at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver for their care and kindness. Jack spent his life as an artist, producing some of the finest sculptures to grace the cities of Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa. He held the Order of BC and was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. For the past 12 years he has made his home in Roberts Creek, British Columbia. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 9th at 2 p.m. at the First Memorial Funeral Services, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver BC. memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
