It is with the greatest sorrow that we announce Rebecca Vassiliou Combatsiaris passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2001, at her home in Montreal. Rebecca was born in the town of Velo of Corinth (Greece) on September 20, 1935. She immigrated to Canada with her sisters in the winter of 1961, met and married Petros Combatsiaris in the summer of 1962 and raised three sons with great faith in God. Rebecca cared deeply for the welfare of her family and friends and will be missed beyond description. She is survived by her beloved husband and her children, Terry, Rachel, Costa and Stelo; her brother Basil and her sisters Katina, Angeliki and Marina. There will be an observance between 5 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, January 17 and 18 and from 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Urgel Bourgie (1255 rue Beaumont, T.M.R. Tel: 735-2025). The funeral will be held at 12 noon on Friday, January 19 at St. George Cathedral (2455 Cote St. Catherine Road, Tel: 738-9360).
