On January 16, 2001, after a long courage battle with Parkinson's Disease in the Ottawa Civic Hospital in his 82nd year. Dear husband of Mae Green (Gunther, McCall) of Perth, Ontario. Loving father of Michael, David and Elizabeth. Grandfather of Nicola, Camilla and Oliver all of England. Survived by brother Weldon (Jean) and sister Marjorie Robb. Predeceased by brothers Arthur "Bud", Theodore "Ted" and Garfield, and sister Helen Welter. Bill will also be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great- nephews as well as his step-daughters and step-grandchildren. During W.W. II Bill served in the Royal Canadian Army in England, France and the low countries. Eventually reaching the rank of Captain he was mentioned in despatches. On his return to Canada following demobilization he attended Queens University and graduated as a Chemical Engineer. In death he continued to be of service by donating his brain to Parkinson's Research. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at the Ramada Inn, in Etobicoke on Sunday, January 28 at 1 p.m. Donations to the Parkinson's Foundation in Bill's name would be appreciated.
