In hospital at Ottawa while surrounded by loved ones on Friday afternoon, January 19th, 2001 following a 2 year bout with cancer, only 2 days after the death of his beloved wife Jean, who died at Arnprior on Wednesday morning, January 17th, 2001. Richard Loring "Rick" Hopkins of White Lake at the age of 58 years. Dear son of the late Anson and Elizabeth Ann Hopkins and stepson of Mrs. Jean Anderson-Hopkins of Orleans, Ontario. Dearly loved brother of Kenneth Hopkins (Lee) of Mille Isles, Quebec and Judy Devey (Brian) of Orleans, Ontario. Special uncle of Wendy Hopkins (Blake Owen), Robin Devey, Dawn Kenton (Colin) and Dayle Devey. Rick will also be fondly remembered by Jean's family especially her son Bryan Osborne (Hilary) of Kars, Ontario and her daughter Carolynne Floyd (Robert) of Arnprior. Private family visitation will be held at the Pilon Family Funeral Home & Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Monday. A private family funeral service will be conducted in St. Anthony's Mausoleum, Capital Memorial Gardens, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive (Highway 16), Nepean on Monday morning, January 22nd, 2001. Rev. Paul Blunt of St. Helen's Anglican Church, Orleans to officiate. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Ottawa Citizen, January 21, 2001.
