At the Brockville General Hospital on Monday, January 22, 2001 at the age of eighty-three. James Ross Smith of R.R.4, Spencerville. Son of the late Alfred Smith and the late Jean Ross. Sadly missed by a niece Mrs. Ed Veys (Marjorie) of R.R.#4., Spencerville and one sister Mrs. Adeline Coates of Louisiana. Survived by two sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Predeceased by three brothers Alfred, George and Donald and one sister-in-law Lucy Smith. Visitation will be held at the Grant Brown Funeral Home, Purcell Chapel, Spencerville on Tuesday, January 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Interment Spencerville Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lung Association or the Alzheimer Society would be gratefully acknowledged. Montreal Gazette, January 23, 2001
