On February 12, 2001, Robert Beatty Spence passed away with his family at his side, in Naples, Florida. Formerly from Montreal, Canada and Kennebunk, Maine, Mr. Spence was born in Toronto, Canada in 1921. He was graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Chemical Engineering. During World War II, Mr. Spence served as a Navigator in the Canadian Navy. He leaves his beloved wife of 50 years, Velva Jane (VJ), dear father of Dana Lesley (Rob Croce) of Sydney, Australia; Kara Michelle (Bill Goodwin) of Toronto, Canada and adoring grandfather of Trent and Kristy Croce, and Spence Goodwin. He also leaves his brothers William (Elizabeth) and John (Stella). A memorial service was held in Naples on Thursday, February 15, 2001.
