(January 20, 1910 - February 25, 2001) On Sunday February 25, 2001, at the age of 91 years, after a brief illness, Gordon Elmer Ellis, of Frankville, passed away at the Brockville General Hospital. He leaves to rejoice in his long life his beloved wife of sixty-three years Helen (nee Moore), and children Gordon (Claude) of Ottawa, Karen (Glen) McCreary of Westport, Wayne (Sharron), Lyle (Sharon) both of Brockville, Brent (Anne-Marie) of Lyn and Jill (Raymond) Howe of Grimsby. Sadly missed by 15 grandchildren, Paul (Beth) McCreary, Scott (Penny) McCreary, Mark (Christie) McCreary, Lee (Vicki) McCreary, Andrea Ellis (Andy Dowd), Helen Ellis (Steven Kovacic), Leigh-Ann Ellis (Bart Rocque), Gordon Craig Ellis, Robert (Nancy) Ellis, Kristen Ellis/Walker (Dan Sacks), Justin Ellis, Stephanie Ellis, Erin Ellis, Jennifer Howe, and Ryan Howe. Loved great-grandfather of Maeve McCreary, Annie Dowd, Isabell Kovacic, Mackenzie Walker and Madison Walker. Also survived by a niece Audrey Stewart and nephew Donald (Joyce) Ellis. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Edward and Margaret Ellis, and siblings Lillian, Albert, Cora (Throop), Verna (Stacey), Percy, Howard, Olive (Dawson), and Pansy. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life and his many interests with family, at the Judson Funeral Home Athens, during the visitation on Tuesday February 27th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday February 28, 2001 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the family plot at Glen Elbe Cemetery. memorial donations to the Addison United Church, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. He has gone home to continue his love of sports, fishing, and hunting with those many friends who have passed on before him. Play that hand well dear Father.Members of the Fidelity Lodge #650 AF & AM and brother lodges are invited to assemble at the Funeral Home on Tuesday February 27th, at 7 p.m. for a Service of Remembrance.
