Peacefully in his eighty-seventh year on Friday, March 2, 2001. Devoted husband of the late Sara Rozenblat. Beloved father and father-in-law of Rose and Sam Birenbaum, Allan and Lily Degen of Israel. Cherished grandfather of Rhonda and Norman Gontovnick, Brian and Eva Birenbaum, Jeffrey and Rhonda Birenbaum, Debra and Michel Tylbor, Yaniv an Yael Degen, Doron and Davida Degen of Israel. Proud great grandfather of Brandon, Samara, Sydney, Sasha, Chloe, Shane, Odeyah Bisora. Brother and brother-in-law of Sydney and Rochelle Degen, the late Nathan and the late Ida Degen of Chicago, and all his other brothers and sisters who perished in the Holocaust.
