AUCOIN (Desjardins), Florida "Florence" "Flo" - 1916-2004. Born in Magdalen Islands, daughter of the late William Desjardins and Marie Gaudet. Florida was an employee of Immigration Canada and the Department of National Defence, and a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Vimy Branch. A devoted mother and grandmother, who will be missed by her family and friends, she was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Parish, Fairview and a past member of St. Mary's Basilica. The family will always remember the love she showed with her two surviving sisters, Aldora and Donalda, as well as her love of life and her overwhelming generosity, especially the recipients of her delicious meat pies, egg rolls and biscuits. Florida is survived by her daughter, Annette Travis (Bill); son, Jude (Mary); daughter-in-law, Glenda; grandsons, Bill, Eric (Maggie), Daniel and fiancée Triena; granddaughters, Chrissie and Shauna; sisters, Aldora Broussard and Donalda Gaudet; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe and son, Claude. Family and friends may visit at T.K. Barnard Funeral Home, Dutch Village Road, Fairview, Wednesday, July 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held in St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, Dutch Village Road, Thursday, July 8, at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the church. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Hope Cottage.
