DESJARDINE, George Thomas (Smokey) - Peacefully, at the Wiarton Hospital, on Friday, July 9, 2004, Smokey Desjardine, of Wiarton, in his 77th year. Husband of the late Jeanette (Ellis) Desjardine (1991). Dear father of Linda and her husband Gary Simpson of Arthur, Nancy and her husband Al Robinson of Owen Sound, Marlene and her friend Dan Pelley of Lindsay, Louis and his wife Marg of Hamilton, Sheila and her husband Brian MacKeen, Phillip, and Roger and his friend Dianne, all of Guelph. Special grandfather of several grandchildren. Also survived by one sister-in-law, Florence Desjardine of White City, Sask. and his best friends, Mac and Carol Law. Predeceased by his parents, Louis and Margaret (Miller) Desjardine; four sisters, Locklina, Bernice, Marie and Margaret and three brothers, Lawrence, Louis and Jack. The family received friends at the George Funeral Home, 430 Mary Street, Wiarton on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, July 12 (today) at 11 a.m., with A.J.V. Leeder officiating. Interment, Bayview Cemetery, Wiarton. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
