World War II, RCN; RCMP Peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, on Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at the age of 89. Loving husband of Runa for 52 years. Dear father of Peter, Caroline (Ian Smith), Janis (Doug Taylor), Jill (Tom Robertson) and Cindy (Rob Eve). Cherished Grampa Jim to Andrew, Joshua, Erika, James, Augusta, Melborne and Adelaide. Brother of Victor (Marion). Predeceased by a brother Hughie and sisters Queen and Evelyn. Jim served in Northern Ontario and went through the North West Passage on the RCMP ship, The St. Roch. Friends may call at the Rideau Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Homes, 1610 Roger Stevens Drive, Kars, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service at Carsonby United Church on Saturday, March 17th at 11 a.m. Cremation.
