Suddenly in hospital on Saturday, March 24, 2001 Jim Rowan of Metcalfe in his 83rd year. Husband for 54 years to his beloved "War Bride", the late Joan (Hislop). Dear father of Dr. Peter (Carolyn) of Toronto, Dr. Robert (Joanne) and Mary (Carson McVey), all of Metcalfe and Colin (Kim) of Black's Corners. Loving grandfather of Gregor and Chip; Jamie, Kristie, Laurie, Shelly and David; Andrew and Melissa; Cale, Cara and Cody and great-grandfather of Keagan. Brother of Marguerite (Norbert Donovan) of Ottawa. and the late Gladys, Robert, Max, Jack, Walter and Joe. Brother-in-law of Lillian and Maymie Rowan. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at the Duncan Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 6971 Bank Street (formerly Highway 31, between Scrivens Drive and Metcalfe Corner) from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Funeral Wednesday to St. Catherine of Siena Church, Albert Street, Metcalfe, for Mass at 11:00 a.m. Private Cremation. Inurnment to take place in the Parish Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Township of Osgoode Care Centre would be most appreciated. A Lyons Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday evening at 9:00 p.m. Ottawa Citizen, March 27, 2001
