S. M. Sam SHANTZ

Peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2001 at K.W. Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Sanford M. "Sam" Shantz in his 76th year, formerly of Kitchener. Beloved husband of Jean Shantz. Loving father of Dean and Michelle Shantz of Aylmer, Quebec, Lois and David Tieleman of Kitchencer and Beth Shantz of Kitchener. Fondly remembered by his two grandsons, Kurt and Erik. Brother of Robert Shantz of California. Predeceased by his first wife Veda (Armstrong) Shantz and one sister Mae Dedeles. Sam was a veteran of the Second World War, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa. At Sam's request cremation has taken place. A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2001 at First United Church (corner of William and King Streets), Waterloo at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rick Hawley officiating. Donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
