Clarence Franklyn TYRELL

Born September 27, 1907 in Bells Corners, Ontario, second eldest son of Henry Tyrell and Ethel Moodie Tyrell. Died March 26, 2001 from Alzheimer's Disease in Deltaview Habilitation Center, Delta, B.C. Carney is survived by Edith, his wife of 63 years, one son, Greig, his wife Isabelle and their son Troy, daughter Jo-Ann Zador, her husband George, her sons Ryan and Mark Mawhinney and her daughter Leslie Mawhinney; daughter Leslie Jane Tyrell, her husband Walter Giesbrecht, their son Paul and daughters Molly and Claire; brother Donald Tyrell; and many nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Ethel Tyrell, brothers Robert Tyrell and Harry Tyrell and sisters Alice Tyrell and Audrey Lear. Carney lived a long and valued life. Always proud of his family, home and livelihood. He was an inspiration to those of us he touched. His greatest gifts were his strong sense of values, his work ethic, his unabashedly bright sense of humor and the importance of shaping the world rather than just walking through it. His happiest moments in life were spent surrounded by his family, at the cottage on Mayne Island, in his garden and his "Saturday hours" at his Graveley Street "warehouse" where many a deal was struck on a handshake and a smile. He loved his grandchildren and shared a special handshake with them. Cremation and private family burial. The family has requested no flowers but that a donation in Carney's memory be made to the Special Care Unit, Deltaview Habilitation Center, 9341 Burns Drive, Delta, B.C.
