Janet was a lovely lady and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Peacefully at home, Monday, March 26, 2001. Born in Grates Cove, Newfoundland in 1922. Daughter of the late Ethel Snelgrove and James Vey. Beloved wife for 54 years of Alfred Charles Wildsmith (R.C.N.-retired) of Halifax and Ottawa. Cherished mother of Brian of Perth, Bruce (Ardythe) of Halifax and William who died shortly after birth. Very proud grandmother of Bruce William and James Walker Wildsmith of Halifax. Caring aunt of Ceci Jones and her family of New York. Dear sister of Win of St. John's, Maisey of Newfoundland, Rita of Halifax, Jack of Toronto and Betty of Florida. Predeceased by sisters Fran of Washington, D.C. and Dot of Halifax. Janet loved to knit and her family will wear her many sweaters with pride. She enjoyed immensely playing bridge. She quietly struggled with diabetes for many years. Janet will always be in the hearts of her family. Interment later in Halifax. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association appreciated.
