Q.A.R.N.N.S.R. (Royal Navy Nurse). Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital Palliative Care Unit on Tuesday, March 27, 2001 in the presence of her family. Predeceased by her loving husband C.J. (Jack) Bonser. She leaves to mourn her sister, Dagmar Hopcroft and her brother, Gerald Holland in London, Ontario, her devoted nephew and loyal caregivers, Peter, Janet, Debbie and Glenn, sisters-in-law Isabelle and Theresa Holland, Betty Liddle, several nieces and nephews as well as her special friends here and in St. John's, Newfoundland. Visitation was at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St John's, Newfoundland on Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2001 at Corpus Christi Church. Following Mass, Alma's cremated remains were entrusted to Collin's Funeral Home, Pointe Claire, Quebec for visitation from relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001 with a memorial service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the Field of Honour, Pointe Claire, Quebec where Alma will be laid to rest with her husband, Jack. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the CNIB or to a charity of one's choice. Montreal Gazette, April 05, 2001
